(b. Panama City, 1915).
This Panamanian painter, who’s career has spanned fifty years, studied under Humberto Ivaldi in Panama and at the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes in Buenos Aires. It was here that he was exposed to abstract art and other international trends. After initially working with neon lights and an early experimentation with collages and mixed media, his pictorial language matured into a refined lyrical abstraction based on broad areas of luminous color. Although his works often contain figurative references like still lifes or facial features, Sinclair is considered the father of abstraction in Panama.
