(b. Guayaquil, Ecuador, 1954). This Ecuadorian sculptor begins his studies at the Fine Arts school in Guayaquil. In 1981 he studies and travels to the Soviet Union and later moves to Yerivan, Armenia for four years where he continues his studies. He later moves to Carrara and Pietrasanta in Italy to study sculpting with marble. He returns to Ecuador to work and almost immediately is awarded first prize in the National Sculpture Exhibition in Guayaquil in 1984 and later in 1987. The Peace Prize in the fist International Modern Sculpture Symposium in Lima, Peru in 2000 as well as the first prize at International Modern Sculpture Symposium in Valdevia, Chile in 2001.
