(b. San José, Costa Rica, 1935).
This Costa Rican painter studied at the "Casa de Artistas" and later at the Escuela de Bellas Artes in Managua. He later travelled to Spain and studied at the Circulo de Bellas Artes in Madrid but returned to his native home and finishes his studies at the University of Costa Rica where he studied engraving and lithography. He travels extensively settling down to artistic production in the mid 1950’s. His early poetic narratives gave way to a later study of the eternal female. He was awarded the Sarah Bernhard prize for scenography in 1986 and in 1985 the Santiago de Santiago award for painting at the Salon de OtoƱo, Madrid.
