(b. San Jose, Bolivia, 1940).
This Bolivian painter and engraver formed his artistic career early while studying under his brother Gustavo. At 17 he traveles to Buenos Aires where he studied painting, design, engraving and sculpture at the Society for learning of Fine Arts. Afterwards he joins the artist group "Espartaco" and befriends other artists that have an influence on his works such as Carpani, Sánchez, Mollari, De Vianco, Dez. In 1961, thanks to a grant form the National Foundation fo rthe arts Lara enters the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes "Ernesto de Cárcoba" in Buenos Aires. His work has been widely recognized includeng the 1983 first prize at International Painting Competition "Bicentenary of the birth of Simon Bolivar", Corpoandes, Mérida, Venezuela.
