(b. Zurich, Switzerland, 1919).
She is best known for her paintings, sculpture and graphic work experimenting with a wide variety of media and techniques. She was born in Zurich Switzerland in 1919 and raised in Italy where she studied philosophy. She moved to Brazil in 1949 and eventually became a Brazilian Citizen. It was her friend and fellow artist Sergio Camargo that first encouraged her to paint. Her early work reflects her involvement with the Constructivist movement. In the 1960s she began to experiment with printing on Japanese rice paper as well as paper sculptures that she knotted and rolled. She continued to experiment with techniques and materials making paintings using gold, tempera paint and brick dust. She was chosen to represent Brazil in the 1964 Biennial of American Art in Cordoba, Argentina as well as in the 1963-71, and 1981 Sao Paulo Biennales.
