(b. Lima, Honduras, 1959).
Lara graduated from the National School of Fine Arts in 1980. He has exhibited in the U.S, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Germany. He has dealt with the theme of banana production with in the magic realism. In 1992, he received the Grand Prize at the Thirteenth annual Honduran Salon of Art. In his technique, he uses acrylics over cloth, with other materials including gesso to create texture. He preferred using gray colors and create smooth contrasts. Armando’s works are surreal and in the social realist styles. His themes include evolution, the origin of life, human race, ecological themes, and social class problems, misery, war and dehumanization.
He received a Gold medal for his painting, Refugees, at the Paintings of the Caribbean and Central America Biennial in 1994.
