(b. Naranjito, Santa Barbara, Honduras, 1934)>
Gómez López received a degree in fine arts in 1957 and graduated from the Academy di Belli Arti in Rome in 1965. In 1977 his painting Las Palomas was selected by the United Nations to be on the cover of their commemorative stamps. He was given homage by the ONU in New York. The same painting was also used on another set of stamps that were done in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the foundation of this worldly organization. Awards received include, the National Award, Pablo Zelaya Sierra and first prize at the second annual Pictorial festival Arturo Lopez Rodenzo both in 1976 and the Alvaro Canales in 1984.
In his technique, he uses a variety of blues, greens and yellow colors and applies them with a wide spatula. The themes that Lopez uses are bucolic landscapes and other vivid objects that reflect the joy he gets from reality.
