(b. Sío Paolo, Brazil, 1950).
He received a degree in engineering from the University Mackenzie in Sío Paolo in 1975 but is largely a self-taught painter. His conversion to Christianity is an evident source of inspiration, present in all his works. His gauzy images incorporate a blend of figuration and abstraction infused with a profound religious sentiment. A great admirer of Michelangelo, Araujo strives to capture the human essence in his paintings, and move the viewer to a higher spiritual plane through his art. He has exhibited his art in South America and Paris in such venues as the Galería Bernheim, Panama in 1992 and the Votre Gallery, Rio de Janeiro in 1996.
