(b. Caridad, Honduras, 1891; d. Tegucigalpa, 1987). v He studied at the Special School of drawing and Print in Madrid (1921- 27). The stressed detail is evident in his works. Although he excelled in portraits, he also painted landscapes in an impressionist style, primarily reproducing the corners of Tegucigalpa. In his portraits, he showed his capacity to capture not only the figure, but the physiological characteristic of the individual as well. The colors used in these works are vivid and the brushstrokes are continuous, smooth, and almost transparent. The contrast between light and dark are managed to create certain effects. Ramírez taught at the School of Arts and Crafts in Tegucigalpa and at the School of Fine Arts.
