(b. Tegucigalpa, Honduras, 1885; d. Tegucigalpa, Honduras, 1982) She initiated her artistic career in 1928 and presented her first exhibition in 1931. She acquired knowledge and practice in decorative arts with the American artist, Cecil Underwood. In 1934, she worked with the master, Alejandro del Vecchio in the decoration of the Cathedral in Tegucigalpa and the painted the stained glass windows at the church of Miraculous Medal. She received the Pablo Zelaya Sierra award in 1980. Her first manifestation was drawing with in the impressionist style using a spatula. She also went through a saintorial phase, by which she was inspired when working at the Cathedral.

Fortin practiced abstract paintings by the use of diverse materials. She also worked in the "naïf" style for some time, for which her works were exhibited in 1977 under the series entitled Recuerdos. At her final stage, she drifted towards an objective colorism, fundamentally inspired by flowers
