(b. La Ceiba, Honduras1886;d.1925) In 1919, he left to Europe and settled in Paris. He then traveled to Italy where he completed his artistic studies. In 1921, he was awarded a prize by the French capital for his work, El Forjador. During his stay in Europe, Italian Impressionism influenced him. His human figures were exalted by their beauty and harmony of forms by using transparent color. Much of his work has been lost, leaving very few in collections.
