(b. San Jacinto, Honduras, 1943; d. 1996) In 1967 the National School of Fine Arts in and moved to Spain from 1967- 1972. In 1994, he received the Spanish National award of Art, Pablo Zelaya Sierra. He was the cofounder of Taller La Merced. He worked with various techniques at a time, which permitted him to experiment with different materials and forms. Although he did not specialize in painting, he created diverse sceneries in Honduras. Usually he used oil on canvas and sometimes adding elaborate acrylic in two stages: first placing white color with a spatula in the background to add texture and then adding color. As a student, Cruz painted neofigurative themes, but with his stay in Barcelona and his return to Honduras, he changed style and adopted a social expressionist form.
