(b. San Juan de los Morros, Venezuela, 1950). Venezuelan sculptor. He studied from 1968-1971 at the Escuela de Artes Plásticas 'Cristóbal Rojas' and at the Instituto de DiseƱo Neumann, both in Caracas. He lived in New York from 1977 to 1980, where he studied at the Pratt Institute and at the School of Visual Arts. Espinoza participated in the 1969 Salon Arturo Michelena de Valencia, Venezuela. From then on he showed his work in one-man and group shows in Venezuela and abroad. The net, represented with canvas stretched to different tensions, was a constant theme of Espinoza's work. He represented Venezuela in the 1985 Sío Paulo Biennale in Brazil.
