(b. in Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1930). Chab began his studies in art at the age of 14 at the Friendly Society of Students and Graduates of Fine Art. Chab's surrealist works in collage and acrylic on canvas are influenced by the bestiary of Hieronymous Bosch, and the work of Joan Miro and Max Ernst. His humanoid forms and rich colors express the unconscious mind in a delicate play of positive of negative space. Chab has participated in over 90 individual exhibitions and more than 200 group shows internationally since 1956. In 1958 he won the Franz Van Riel Prize from the Salon of Watercolorists and Printmakers in Buenos Aires and the silver medal at the University of Brussel's World Fair. His work can be found in collections
