(b. Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1937). Sergio Camporeale was born in Buenos Aires in 1937. He first studied art at the School of Fine Arts, and later at "Prilidiano Pueyrredon" high school, both in Buenos Aires. He entered the art world through advertising, where he developed his rigorous draughtsmanship. Since 1976 he has resided in Paris with fellow artist Delia Cugat. Camporeale favors watercolor as his medium, and composes his grotesque caprices against a blank paper background. The strange characters which make up his "universe of perversity" are surrounded by equally strange props - cockerels, goats, pigs and babies, and a profusion of carnival masks.
